Privacy Policy

The short version: Formday uses your body data to tell you how ready you are for your next class. Your health data is never sold, never used for ads, and never shown to friends. You can delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Formday is a fitness companion app for studio classes and sports, made in Los Angeles. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect, and why
- Account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous Apple identifier and, if you choose, your name. We store your username and profile photo if you add them.
- Apple Health. With your permission, Formday reads sleep, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, workouts, active energy and water on your iPhone to compute your form score. This data stays on your device; we do not upload it to our servers.
- Connected wearables (WHOOP, Oura, Withings, Polar). When you connect one, you sign in on the device maker's own page. We store the access token they give us, encrypted, and use it only to read your recovery, sleep, heart rate variability, resting heart rate and workouts, which we pass straight to your app. We do not keep a copy of this health data on our servers. You can disconnect at any time in the app.
- Meal photos. When you scan a meal, the photo is sent to our server and to Anthropic (our AI provider) to estimate its nutrition, then discarded. Saved meals stay on your phone.
- Calendar. If you allow it, Formday reads your calendar on your phone to find past fitness classes and learn what you like. It is not uploaded.
- Friends. If you use the social features, we store the classes you mark "I'm going", the classes you choose to share, kudos and reactions, so your friends can see them. Friends only see what you share. They never see your health data.
- Class feedback. Your answers after a class ("how did it feel") stay on your phone today. If we later use them to improve class recommendations, they will be aggregated and anonymous.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use health data for advertising or marketing.
- We do not let studios or teachers see your individual health data.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Formday: our hosting provider (server in the United States), Cloudflare (network and security), and Anthropic (meal photo analysis). They process data only to provide their service to us.
Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Wearable tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to our server is restricted to key-based login.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account in the app (You → Delete account). This removes your account, profile photo, friends, posts and wearable connections from our servers.
- Revoke Apple Health access in the iOS Settings app, and disconnect wearables in Formday.
- California residents have the right to know, access, correct and delete their personal information, and we do not sell or share personal information. Write to [email protected] for any request.
Children
Formday is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
